from Psalm 8

O Lord, our Lord!
Majestic be
Your wondrous Name
On earth and sea,
And higher still
In heaven’s heights,
Yon splendor tells
Of Your great might!
Through children’s mouths
Is praise ordained
That silence those
With mouths profaned.
From infant lips
Your strength’s acclaimed,
Before Your foes
Whose lips are shamed.

Prayer of an Expat

I hurt for America and the land I was born.
I long to see the patchwork land
And from those faces I am torn.

It is about my home. It is not about me.
The union of Americans
Is home and that it shall ever be.

PATRIOT DEFINED

Old-Age:

He looks in the mirror.

His eyes have seen many years clearer than now.

Teeth are fake, hearing amplified, taste gone, heart is pounding.

The flag, his banner and beacon, hangs in the corner of his room. His brother died defending Flag sixty years past.
