Vindicate me oh God! I’m innocent!
Plead for me and give this nation judgment.
Rescue me, my great Defender, from such
Wicked men whose lies are their daily crutch!
You, oh God, are my safe sanctuary.
Why would you reject or dispose of me?
Must I truly wander in my mourning,
Languishing while my foes are oppressing?
Send far, send wide Your light and mighty truth.
So that they lead me, guide me from my youth.
May they take me to Your holy mountain,
Deep into Your dwelling and Your garden!
There, I shall seek and will find God’s altar,
And I shall see God! My joyful Father!
To You, I will play and praise with the lyre,
To God, my God, my heart’s great desire.
Why, my soul, are you saddened and downcast?
Why is this troubling unease so steadfast?
Hope in God and praise Him in these moments
And give Him thanks for His saving presence.
