I’m desperately looking for you, Oh God,
The One I hunger and I thirst.
My soul calls for You where I walk abroad
In waterless lands that are cursed.
I’ve seen You in Your sanctuary, Lord,
Your majesty before my eyes!
Because Your endless love is my reward,
To You, God, my soul glorifies!
My lifelong praise for You will never cease.
I’ll lift my hands to praise Your name.
You satisfy more than the finest feast.
With joy, my lips shall sing Your fame.
On many sleepless night, I lie awake
And on You, God, my thoughts will cling.
To You, my Help, I’ll sing for Your Name’s sake
Beneath the shadow of Your wings.
My heart, my soul, my strength will follow close
For Your right hand will hold me fast,
But those who trap me in the deathly throes
Are doomed to graves that ever last.
Deceitful men will trip upon their swords,
Becoming food for fox and fly.
The Godly king finds joy in His reward
For honest lips will glorify
This God, our God, wherein our souls are filled
As lying lips are quickly stilled.
