O Lord, our Lord!
Majestic be
Your wondrous Name
On earth and sea,
And higher still
In heaven’s heights,
Yon splendor tells
Of Your great might!
Through children’s mouths
Is praise ordained
That silence those
With mouths profaned.
From infant lips
Your strength’s acclaimed,
Before Your foes
Whose lips are shamed.
I lift my eyes
To heaven’s heights
And marvel at
These starry lights
Which You have placed
With moonlit nights!
I linger long
To ponder self
Below the throng
O’ starry belt.
Beholding all
The heavens tell,
A question forms
I cannot quell:
“Oh why would You
Remember me?
I’m mortal flesh
Compared to Thee!”
You placed me less
Than angels’ feet!
Yet crowned my head
With majesty!
We mortal ones
You choose to set
O’er all You made
And earth beget.
Beneath our feet
Are flocks and herds,
The untamed beasts,
All wingėd birds,
Each fish that swims
Near bluest keys
And forms a path
In deepest seas.
O Lord, our Lord!
Majestic be
Your wondrous Name
On earth and sea!
