I speak a declaration to the sinful,
To evil man who treats his ways so casual –
There is no fear of God but only lying
In eyes of wicked man who lives live dying.
He winks in mirrors; his heart’s so conceited
That he won’t see how sin has him defeated.
His mouth only speaks words that are dishonest
And, we know, his foolish mind is the foulest,
For he dreams up schemes and plots like the devil,
Embracing vilest ways that reek of evil.
But Your love, Oh God, stretches passed the heavens;
Your limitless faithfulness ever strengthens;
Your righteousness is higher than the mountains;
Your justice, God, is deeper than the oceans.
The life of man and beast You keep and cherish.
Your priceless, never-ending love is precious.
These truths make our children come to Your safety,
Beneath the shadow of Your wings so soundly.
You feed them with Your heavenly abundance
And give them drink from Your river of joyance.
Within You the fountain of life is flowing.
In Your light, we see the light that is living.
Let flow Your love, Oh God, on all Your people
And stretch Your righteous hand to hearts now humble.
Protect me from the prideful foot that tramples
And from wicked hands that could make me tumble.
You see our history’s wicked men imprisoned?
Never once shall we say that they have risen!
