Psalm 46

God is our refuge and God is our strength,
An ever present help in troubling days.
No fear remains when standing at the depths
As all foundations of the earth give way
And mounts uproot and shake away the dirt, the loam,
Then topple over deep into the seas
To where the waters roar, the waters foam
And oceans swallow whole the mountain peaks.

In the city of God a river flows,
Delighting those who dwell with God most high.
With God so near, they can’t be overthrown,
For God is their great help with daylight nigh.
How many kingdoms fall while nations rage!
How mighty is God’s voice that makes earth melt!
The Lord of Lords is with us age to age.
Ten thousand years with Him I will have dwelt!

Come and behold the fearsome works of God,
Confounding those who dwell upon the earth.
He ends all wars for they are just facades.
He breaks the bows, the spears that have no worth.
And as the weapons burn within the fire,
I hear Him say, “Be still and know I’m God.
I will be praised across the lands entire.
The earth shall hear of Me and will applaud.”

Emmanuel is mine from age to age,
Ten thousand years is merely the first page!
